Who we are
Belsito is a website design service run by a sole trader based in Northamptonshire. We are the "controller" of the personal information described here.
For anything about your personal information, reply to any email you've had from Belsito and it will reach us. Our postal address will be added here shortly.
Stop hearing from us
You can tell us to stop contacting you at any time, for free, and we will stop straight away. Reply "no thanks" to any email, use the unsubscribe link, or say so on a call. We keep just enough detail (business name, email or phone) on a do-not-contact list so we never contact you again by mistake.
What information we hold
About businesses we'd like to work with:
- business name, trade, address, and public phone number and email address
- the name of the owner or a contact, if published
- notes of any conversation with us
- whether you've agreed to hear from us, and when
- whether you've asked us not to contact you.
About our clients: contact details, the content you give us for your website, invoices and payment records. Card payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card details.
We don't collect any sensitive ("special category") information.
Where we get it
If you haven't contacted us yourself, your details came from publicly available business sources:
- the Companies House register
- your own website or business listings
- information you've published so that customers can contact you.
We tell you this in our first message, as the law requires.
Why we use it, and our legal basis

Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We use trusted service providers who process it only on our instructions:
- Google Workspace (email)
- Cloudflare (website hosting, including example sites)
- Stripe (payments)
- Notion (our records of who we've contacted and their preferences).
Some of these providers are based in the US. Where your information leaves the UK, it's protected by the UK-US data bridge (for certified US companies) or by other legal safeguards such as the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep it
- Businesses that don't become clients: deleted 12 months after our last contact, except the minimal do-not-contact entry, which we keep for as long as needed to honour your request.
- Example websites: taken down 30 days after we send them, or straight away if you ask.
- Clients: for as long as we work together, then 6 years for tax and legal records.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or restrict how we use it. You can also object to how we use it, and take back consent at any time. We'll reply within one month.
Complaints
Please tell us first and we'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
